New College Bradford Students Celebrate Record-Breaking Results in 2026

Students at New College Bradford are celebrating another year of outstanding academic success, with the college achieving its best ever A Level and Applied General results and continuing its strong trajectory of improvement.

This year, the college has broken its own record for student achievement, delivering year-on-year improvements across both A Level and Applied qualifications. The outstanding results mean that students are now progressing to their chosen universities, higher and degree apprenticeships, and employment opportunities with confidence and ambition.

A Level students achieved a remarkable 100% pass rate, with 56% of grades awarded at A-B* and 20% achieving the highest grades of A-A*. On average, students attained a grade B- across their studies, outperforming national results.

Students studying Applied General qualifications also achieved exceptional success, recording a 100% pass rate, with 78% of grades awarded at Distinction or Distinction*.

The college also celebrated excellent value-added outcomes, with both A Level and Applied students making exceptional progress from their starting points at the end of Year 11. These results demonstrate the significant impact the college continues to have in helping young people exceed expectations and achieve their full potential.

These figures may improve slightly as exam boards process requests for reviews and remarks.

Stuart Nash, Principal of New College Bradford, said:

“We are absolutely delighted with this year’s results, which are the strongest in the college’s history. To achieve record-breaking outcomes across both A Level and Applied General qualifications is a tremendous accomplishment for our students and staff alike.”

“Our students have shown outstanding commitment, resilience and determination throughout their studies. Achieving an average A Level grade of B- and an average Applied grade of Distinction, while outperforming national results, is a fantastic achievement and reflects the ambition and talent of our college community.”

“We are particularly proud of the exceptional progress our students have made from their starting points. These outcomes demonstrate the transformative impact of high-quality education, dedicated support and a culture that encourages every student to aim high and succeed.”

“As our students move on to university, apprenticeships and employment, they do so with the skills, confidence and qualifications needed to thrive. We could not be prouder of their achievements.”

These outcomes build on New College Bradford’s strong track record of helping students make meaningful progress and secure positive destinations after college.

Brendon Fletcher, Executive Director for Sixth Form Education at New Collaborative Learning Trust, added:

“These record-breaking results are a testament to the ambition and commitment of our students and staff at New College Bradford. It is particularly pleasing to see continued year-on-year improvement, alongside the exceptional progress students are making from their starting points.”

“Whether our students are progressing to leading universities, competitive apprenticeships or entering employment, these outstanding results provide them with an excellent platform for future success. We are immensely proud of everything they have achieved.”

Richard Fletcher, CEO of New Collaborative Learning Trust, said:

“Every year, results day gives us a great opportunity to celebrate with our young people and their families, as we help them open the door to the next step in their lives. These fantastic outcomes demonstrate the positive impact our colleges continue to have on social mobility across the region.”

“Breaking previous records while significantly outperforming national benchmarks is a remarkable achievement. These results ensure that our young people have better chances of improved life outcomes, accessing more competitive university courses, apprenticeships and jobs across the country. Our students deserve enormous credit for their hard work, and we thank our staff and families for the support they provide in helping young people reach their full potential.”
