A new-build sixth-form college located in Bradford city centre has secured government funding.
New College Bradford, which will open in September 2019, has this week received the good news that the Education & Skills Funding Agency has approved the project.
“It is very exciting news,” said Pauline Hagen, CEO of the New Collaborative Learning Trust, the multi-academy trust behind the project. “This means that we will now be able to secure a site in a prime central location. It also means we are on track to open our new sixth form college in September 2019 as planned. In two years we will be able to offer Bradford’s young people a first class sixth form college experience in the heart of their city.”
New College Bradford will be the trust’s third sixth form college. New College Doncaster opens this September, and already has 1000 applicants for 450 places. New College Pontefract currently has 2300 students, and is one of the most successful sixth form colleges in the country.
