As part of our School Liaison Programme, New College Bradford is proud to offer a ‘menu of opportunities’ to 51 schools and secondary providers from across the region. One such opportunity which we have been able to offer Carlton Bolling, Bradford, is the ‘SPARKS’ programme. This opportunity has been made possible through our partnership with the University of Hull. The SPARKS programme supports a select group of students through year 7 to 11. Students will participate in a variety of activities supported by University of Hull student ambassadors. This opportunity will build on the Carlton Bolling students’ knowledge of Higher Education and provides them with the tools to make confident choices about their future.
During their time on the programme, students can expect to:
- Develop knowledge and awareness of Higher Education
- Understand how GCSE study relates to post-16 study
- Explore subject areas and the range of possible study opportunities
- Discover academic and social benefits of University
- Develop study skills
We look forward to seeing this partnership grow over the next five years.
Our School Liaison Programme has been really successful so far this year. We know this by the number of liaison opportunities we have been involved in so far with Bradford secondary education providers, and also by the number of applications we have had from Year 11’s across the City to join New College Bradford in September 2022. We have had over 1000 applications which is nearly 50% more than this time last year! Remember to get your applications in by the 1st March 2022. https://ncbradford.ac.uk/apply/
