Meet the team

Pauline Hagen

Pauline has wide-ranging educational experience and knowledge acquired over a career trajectory from classroom teacher to CEO, via middle and senior leadership and Principal, working in contexts including school, college and custodial institutions.

Pauline works as an Ofsted inspector and has been Principal Examiner for one of the major awarding bodies.

Her work as National Leader has enabled her to work closely with Headteachers, senior leaders and governors in improving outcomes for children and young people through securing school improvement.

Pauline led New College Pontefract to outstanding, and then applied this experience to the establishment of a teaching school, two successful applications to open sixth form colleges in Doncaster and Bradford and successful re-designation of New College Pontefract as an academy, run by a multi academy trust. This trust will operate the three colleges across Yorkshire, with an ambition to raise aspiration and improve outcomes so that every young person can achieve in line with their potential, whatever their starting point or circumstance.

Pauline comments that “New College Bradford will offer the distinctive, top quality sixth form experience of New College on a purpose built city centre campus”.

 

Naureen Aslam

Naureen has worked in education within Bradford for the past nine years. She has worked as a classroom teacher, Lead Practitioner and led on Key stage 5 achievement. Her work as a Specialist Leader in Education has helped improve outcomes for young people in Bradford. She is extremely passionate about the young learners in Bradford and ensuring that they fulfil their potential.

Naureen joined the New Collaborative Learning Trust in September 2017, as Senior Project Lead for Bradford. She will be key to the set-up and successful opening of New College Bradford.

Naureen is looking forward to shaping the distinctive features of the college, in particular its support, guidance and care, and its exciting curriculum.

 

Stuart Nash

Stuart has worked for the last 16 years as a Senior Leader in two outstanding sixth form colleges in the north of England. Prior to this he has been a Head of Department in an 11-18 Comprehensive School in Shropshire and worked as a GCSE Geography coursework moderator, an A-level examiner and a staff trainer for a teacher training provider.

As a Local Leader of Education and Director of the New Collaborative Teaching School, Stuart has supported senior leaders in improving outcomes for learners in schools and colleges across the region through a number of school to school improvement projects. He has also developed a number of innovative and successful training programmes for teachers and senior leaders.

Stuart has overseen the strategic development of teaching, learning and assessment at New College Pontefract. He is currently replicating the success of this model in New College Doncaster through a trust-wide programme of continuing professional development that is frequent, sustained, and evidence-based.

New College Bradford will offer a similar distinctive post-16 pedagogy based on high quality teaching and independent learning to deliver outstanding student outcomes.
