Just 8 months after the first of the steel frame was delivered to site, the first phase of New College Bradford is set to open its doors to students next week. The pace of construction is as remarkable as the amazing design that was seen for the first time by college staff this week.
New College Bradford Principal, Stuart Nash, said, “We are absolutely thrilled with our new building, which was handed over to us by BAM, our contractors, today. BAM have done an absolutely fantastic job, delivering a world class learning environment that will support us in our endeavour to provide excellence in sixth form teaching to the young people of Bradford.”
New College Bradford joins New College Pontefract and New College Doncaster in the New Collaborative Learning Trust. The trust’s CEO, Pauline Hagen OBE, welcomed Councillor Imran Khan to the site on its very first day to meet the staff and have a tour of the building. Pauline said, “We are very proud and privileged to establish the New College family right in the heart of Bradford, and to play a major part in the educational achievement of young people.”
New College Bradford’s next Open Day takes place on Thursday 3rd October 2019. The event, which runs from 4:30pm-7:30pm, will provide students and parents a chance to see the fantastic new facilities, including state of the art classrooms and labs, STEM area, two storey Learning Resource Centre plus a host of social, dining and support areas, and also talk to teaching staff from all the subjects on offer.
