Last week our students had the privilege to visit Worcester College, our link college at the University of Oxford. The trip aimed to show our students what studying at Oxford entails and to encourage students who had not previously considered Oxbridge to potentially expand their horizons.
Jaya, the admissions officer, shared her experiences as a former English student at Oxford and talked us through the application process and about student life and leisure. We also had a handling session at the university’s Natural History Museum, this was excellent and involved seeing a barn owl, a 150 year octopus and hissing cockroaches. At the end of the trip a majority of the students said they changed their views about Oxford and would consider an application to the university. It was an amazing experience.
