SUBJECT

Uniformed Protective Services

What are lessons like in this subject?

Lessons include a balance of classroom-based theory and practical learning, ensuring you develop both the knowledge and skills required for progression into the sector. In the classroom, you will explore topics such as the law, behaviour, criminology and emergency response through discussion, research tasks and written assignments.   You will also take part in regular practical sessions including drills, team challenges, and realistic scenarios that reflect situations faced in uniformed services.   A key feature is the expedition, where you will plan and complete an outdoor team activity. This requires a high-level of fitness and will develop your resilience, and ability to work effectively under pressure.   You will also engage in physical preparation to support your health, wellbeing, and readiness for service careers. Professionalism, discipline, and a positive attitude are expected throughout.   The course prepares you for careers in the police, armed forces, fire or prison service, as well as further study.
