Governance

All Academy Trusts have two layers of governance – Members and Directors. Some (like NCLT) choose to have a third, i.e., Advisory Groups. Details of Members and Directors can be found on the Trust’s website – https://nclt.ac.uk/governance-information. Our Advisory Group can be found below.

All governance and financial information can be found on the Trust policies page – https://nclt.ac.uk/policies

Tehmina was born in 1966 in Nairobi, Kenya and came to England in 1972 when her parents were forced to leave a country that was becoming politically unstable. Having a relatively affluent lifestyle in Africa the family found themselves starting from scratch in Salford, Manchester where she grew up until leaving for University and marriage (at the same time!) in 1985. She qualified as a Biochemist and after having her three children, she became a teacher. Teaching for 28 years in Bradford, with a short spell in Manchester, she has recently taken early retirement. Her most recent leadership role was as Executive Principal at an All-through Academy in BD4 which serves some of the most disadvantaged children in the community. She has always worked in challenging schools and finds the rewards of nurturing ambition and aspiration outweighs these challenges. From a teaching background and with a passion for science, she enjoyed the very different challenge of school leadership. Getting to grips with running a business with 280 staff and a turnover of 13 million seems very far away from the training she had as a teacher of science. She has enjoyed her leadership roles and looking forward to exploring more restful pursuits in the future!
