Due to the restricted site there is no student parking on the New College site itself except for any physically disabled learners who should contact the Estates and Health & Safety Manager.
As a matter of urgency, please could I ask parents and carers NOT to park vehicles on the double yellow lines outside the College on Nelson Street or within the entrance to the College car park, when dropping off or collecting students.
Parking and stopping within the restricted area in the vicinity of College is seriously compromising the safety and wellbeing of our students and other pedestrians, as well as hindering the access and progress of emergency vehicles.
It is also extremely important that students take extra care when crossing Nelson Street at the beginning and end of the College day.
May I please urge you to respect the safety of our College community, either by parking further along Nelson Street where there are no parking restrictions, or finding alternative legal parking in Bradford City Centre. There is also excellent public transport provision in Bradford and the use of buses or trains, whenever possible, would also help to reduce the traffic congestion at the beginning and end of the College day.
Together with the local Police and Bradford Council, we are committed to ensuring that students feel confident that they may safely enter and leave College at all times. For this reason, any vehicle parked illegally may be ticketed.
Unfortunately, as a College community we have already experienced a road traffic accident involving one of our students, and I am sure that you will wish to help us in preventing any such incident being repeated in the future.
Thank you for your consideration and assistance.
